Editor's Note
The road used to connect the Temple of Zeus Akraios, whose remains now lie beneath the Akarcali Mosque and its surroundings, to the acropolis of Smyrna (which we today call Kadifekale) and to the city agora. About 60 meters of it have survived to the present day. Considering the temple, the road must be 1,900 years old.
