Editor's Note
It was built in 1891 on a street opened during the period when Halil Rifat Pasha served as governor. Today, because the topography of the area has changed, the bridge is hard to make out and has taken on a function similar to that of a retaining wall. The construction date and a star-and-crescent relief appear on the visible arches of the bridge.
