The Atatürk, His Mother and Women's Rights Monument stands at Constitution Square in the Karşıyaka district of İzmir. A design competition held in 1971 was won by sculptor Tamer Başoğlu and architect Erkal Güngören. Built with donations from the people of Karşıyaka to mark the 50th anniversary of the Republic, the monument was inaugurated on 26 October 1973.
