Editor's Note
In 2014 the Karsiyaka Municipality placed a commemorative plaque, bearing the poem "Yagmur Kacagi" (The Rain Fugitive), at the entrance of the Kalyoncu Apartment building at No. 2 Attila Ilhan Street (formerly 1744th Street), in memory of the poet and writer Attila Ilhan, who lived here. The plaque reads: "Biket Ilhan, Colpan Ilhan, and Attila Ilhan lived in this building."
