The Halil Rifat Pasha Mansion was built for Halil Rifat Pasha, a distinguished statesman of the 19th century. Constructed from stone, the building was designed as a residence surrounded by carefully tended gardens. From the time it was built, the mansion was home to some of Izmir's most prominent families. Today it is used by the Konak Municipality's Department of Foreign Relations. Within this use, the ground floor holds an art gallery, reading rooms, administrative offices, a kitchen, a pantry, and conference and study rooms. Halil Rifat Pasha, 19th century.
