Larissa, also known as Larisa Phrikonis or Larisa on the Hermos, was an ancient city in the region of Aeolis in western Asia Minor, near the village of Buruncuk in İzmir's Menemen district. It is considered one of the oldest cities of the Aegean and one of the twelve Aeolian cities of the region.
