Editor's Note
According to its inscription, the fountain was built by Damat Ibrahim Pasha, the grand vizier of the Ottoman sultan Ahmed III. No date is given, but by the abjad reckoning the fountain was built in AH 1139 / AD 1727. The inscription section is located just above the fountain's spout. The inscription panel, made on a large scale, covers the small-scale fountain. The inscription is 1.10 m wide and 0.80 m high. It is written in jali thuluth script. Carved in relief on the marble surface, the inscription is original. It consists of sixteen lines in total.
