In excavations carried out at Garibin Tepe in Van's Tusba district, identified as belonging to the Urartians, a 2,700-year-old monumental building complex containing 13 pithoi (large storage vessels) was brought to light. Excavations at Garibin Tepe are being conducted under the leadership of the Van Museum and the scientific consultancy of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Isikli, with the permission of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
