It lies 1 km southeast of the village of Gunyurdu (Tirtop), 28 km south of Bulanik, at coordinates 38.92.16 north, 42.26.02 east. It sits on a ridge running northeast-southwest at an elevation of 1,780 m, between two streams that join slightly to the north to form the Geli Stream. The fortress is reached from the southern plains by heading east, passing west of the necropolis, and then turning west along an ancient road formed here by cutting into the bedrock. Roughly rectangular and measuring 75.00 by 220.00 m, the fortress has its entrance at the northeast corner. 6 m.
