Editor's Note
Tayyar Baba, of the Mucazogullari family, was born in 1902. He received his early education within the family circle. His elder brother Haci Mehmet was raised under Haci Omer Hudai Baba, and so Tayyar Baba's inclination toward the Qadiri order came from his brother Haci Mehmet. His brother later went to Damascus as a sanjak governor and was martyred in a battle there. Tayyar Baba lost his father at a young age, and the burden of supporting the family fell on his shoulders. Coming to Harput, Tayyar Baba learned the tanning trade and, during this time, was initiated into the Qadiri order.
