Editor's Note
After the castle passed into Ottoman hands, it took its present form during the reign of Ahmed I. It has an outer wall reinforced with diagonal and square towers, as well as an inner citadel. There is a restaurant within the castle, and there are plans to convert an old building into a museum. An inscription that may or may not belong to the castle has also been found.
