A hill that villagers call 'the castle' preserves an oral tradition that a fortress once stood here. Today, however, the area bears heavy traces of treasure hunters. Illegal excavation pits catch the eye all across the site (see photos). There are also deep caves in the rock formation. No remains of the castle are visible on the surface, but it is clear that the area is a mound (hoyuk).
