Editor's Note
Rising at the foot of the historic Zamanti Castle, in the Koccagiz locality of Kayseri's Pinarbasi (Zamanti) district, this modest yet striking structure is one of the important seals left by the Dulkadirogullari Beylik in Anatolia. Although locals today call it the 'Garip Turbe' (Stranger's Tomb) or 'Oksuz Turbe' (Orphan's Tomb), the original inscription on the building's doorway offers us a far deeper historical context. The marble inscription, carefully set within the pointed-arch niche above the entrance, sheds light on the identity of this stone structure.
