Editor's Note
The Great Victory Monument (Büyük Utku Anıtı) in Afyonkarahisar was erected to commemorate the city's liberation from Greek occupation and the Great Offensive. Created by the noted sculptor Heinrich Krippel between 1934 and 1936, it was inaugurated on 24 March 1936 by the then prime minister İsmet İnönü.
