According to its inscription, the fountain was built by Ahmed Efendi. No date is given. Its inscription reads: this is the gracious fountain that el-Hac Ahmed Efendi, formerly of the imperial council scholars and secretary to the chief eunuch of the Holy Abode of Felicity, built and brought to life for the sake of God Almighty. Built below the level of the road that passes to its south, the Boğazağzı Fountain is 4.14 m wide, 2.92 m high and 0.95 m deep. It is a single-faced wall fountain in horizontal rectangular form. The fountain was built abutting a wall. It was built entirely of cut stone. The fountain niche is defined by a round arch.
