Editor's Note
The Dombaycıoğlu Inn was built in 1823 by Dombaycıoğlu Mehmet Ağa and registered in 1963. Placed under protection as a cultural property in 1980, the inn began to be used from 1995 onward, with its rooms rented out. Although some sections collapsed in recent years through neglect, it was restored by the Akhisar Commodity Exchange at a cost of 2 million Turkish lira. The restored inn will house 7 rooms where exchange members can hold meetings and 9 shops. With the completion of Akhisar's central market and a boutique hotel, the historic inn is expected to bring new life to the area.
