Editor's Note
See Dr. Ender Özbay, "Turkish-Period Bridges of the Büyük Menderes, Küçük Menderes and Gediz Basins" (pp. 552–561). The bridge was commissioned by Hoca Seyfettin son of El-Hac Saruhan. It has four arches, two of them large; on the southern side are two smaller ones, along with overflow openings that have been partly closed off during repairs. All the arches are pointed. The large arches and the walls are of finely dressed stone, while the smaller arches are built of rubble masonry. Limestone and volcanic rock were used for most of its construction.
