The Miri Granary is known as one of the state's official storehouses. Built at the foot of steep cliffs to the north of Van Castle, it is flanked by the twin church to its east and the Great Mosque to its west. Thanks to this strategic position, the Miri Granary stood at a very secure point, and to this day it has never been the subject of any technical study. Since there is no inscription giving information about its construction date or its founder, no firm data exist. Nevertheless, when its building materials, masonry, and architectural features are examined, the structure appears to date to the 17th century.
