Editor's Note
The Aziziye Barracks is a large-scale Ottoman structure built in the 1860s-1870s between the Hüsrev Paşa Mosque and the western city walls, as part of the military reforms of Sultan Abdülaziz (who reigned from 1861 to 1876) aimed at strengthening the navy and land armies.
