At Kömür Burnu in the Karaburun district of İzmir province, rescue excavations carried out since 2018 jointly by the Çeşme Archaeology Museum and Ankara University's Mustafa V. Koç Marine Archaeology Research Centre (ANKÜSAM) have uncovered a cemetery dating to the Late Bronze Age. In the 2018 season, eight graves of different types were brought to light in a damaged condition.
