The Erdemli Quarter Mosque Ruin is a rectangular-plan structure with an interior barrel vault, located in the centre of the Sason district of Batman province. The vault of the mosque, built of broken stone and mud mortar, was formed by leaning the stones vertically against one another. The building, which has cupboard niches in its east, north and south walls and a mihrab niche to the south, is known locally as the Şeyh Mahmut Mosque. Today in a ruined and derelict state, the prayer hall has been largely filled in with earth.
