Editor's Note
It is said that the frescoes of this church, built in the 11th century, were renewed in the 14th century. The structure comprises a complex in three sections. The third section consists of rock-cut parts and additions built using ordinary cut stone. The church has an interesting plan: with its kitchens, dining rooms, and burial chambers surrounding the courtyard, and its chapel with twin corridors and two deep niches, it has a layout different from the others. The church has two aisles. The north aisle runs east–west and its apse has collapsed. The south aisle also runs east–west, with a circular-plan apse.
