Editor's Note
The church was consecrated and opened in 1882 by the monk Paisios. Dedicated to the Holy Cross, its construction began on 21 May—an important day for Christianity, as it is regarded as the day Christianity became the official religion of Rome. The church was completed and opened for worship by the end of the same year. It has a basic plan with a barrel-vaulted roof, measuring 24.5 metres in length and 14.5 metres in width. The church's smooth stonework is striking, and it has a two-storey bell tower.
