Editor's Note

Source: Kültür Envanteri · Wikidata This information is compiled from the sources shown.

Sipahi Mosque was built in a neighbourhood densely inhabited by Muslims during the Ottoman period. The differing information found in the sources does not allow certainty about its construction date: records in the Antiquities Register of the central town of the Niğde Sanjak point to the 16th century, while inventory records give the year 1834. For this reason, the mosque's exact construction date is unknown. Architecturally, the building consists of a single-aisled rectangular prayer hall running perpendicular to the mihrab and a smaller winter prayer space to its west.
