Şeyh Ali Mosque was built in 1824 (AH 1240) by Yazıcı Ali Ağa. Among the mosques of Mustafapaşa, it holds a special place as the only one whose original inscription and founder are known. Built entirely of neatly dressed yellow cut stone, the mosque is notable for its solidity and simplicity. A glazed section added later to the façade has partly altered its original appearance. Originally built as a single-space structure, the mosque acquired a five-space layout through additions made over time. The prayer hall is single-aisled, running perpendicular to the mihrab, and is covered by a pointed barrel vault.
