A glazed narthex (last-congregation porch) has been added to the north side of the mosque, which stands within a courtyard at the centre of the town of Suvermez. In 1976 a new minaret was added at the northeast corner of the building. The east and south walls are reinforced by a concrete wall that is one metre thick at the base and tapers to nothing at the top. The original architecture is a four-columned baldachin type reached by an independent stairway at the northwest corner. A new ablution fountain stands in the courtyard, which is entered through a low, segmental-arched gate. The building has a concrete roof. The three-part narthex on the north side has been incorporated into the structure, and the same wall has also been extended to the south.
