Editor's Note
Since the Karapınar Town Fountain bears no inscription, it is not known when or by whom it was built. However, the inscription of the Karapınar Town Central Mosque, which stands to the southwest of the fountain, gives the mosque's construction date as AH 1173 / AD 1760. Given that the fountain abuts the mosque's enclosure wall and considering its architectural features, it may well date from those same years; to be more cautious, however, it can be dated to the 18th century.
