Seferihisar Ulu Cami

Construction: AH 1231 / 1816 CE. This is a mosque with a single minaret, a wooden gallery and a pulpit. It underwent a comprehensive restoration in 1996. Rectangular in plan along its width, the mosque is divided into three naves by two rows of supports. The wooden-ceilinged mihrab niche bears a curtain motif on its hood and Baroque-style ornamentation at its crest. On either side of the mihrab is a decorative blind column. On the upper floor is a wooden gallery reserved for women. The minaret stands on the north face of the building.
