Editor's Note
Above the entrance to the prayer hall of the present mosque are two marble inscription panels. The upper panel bears the "Surah al-Ikhlas"; the lower panel states that the mosque was built by "Kasım ibn Yusuf ibn Evren" and gives its construction date, by the Abjad reckoning, as AH 894 (1489 CE).
