Editor's Note
On Balkış Street in Hacıisa neighbourhood, this bathhouse is still in use today. It is cited as an example of the plan type that Semavi Eyice described as having "the cooling room, hot room and private cells as paired chambers," in which the warm room, hot room and private cells are roughly equal in size. Though following this plan type, the chambers of the Köprübaşı Hamamı are not all of equal width. The walls of the building are constructed of rough-hewn and rubble stone. The bathhouse, which has no construction inscription, is known to have been in operation between 1512 and 1520, and 15.
