It was built in 1932 by the Turkish Aeronautical Association as a debt of gratitude to the people of Ödemiş, who had purchased a total of five aircraft for the Association under the names Ödemiş 1-2, Birgi, and Adagide 1-2. The area where the building stands is also known as Aircraft Park (Tayyare Parkı).
