The mosque in the Aydin bazaar was built in 1595 by Ramazan Pasha, brother of Uveys Pasha. It was completely destroyed in the 1899 earthquake. The mosque that survives today was built by Halil Pasha of Soke; having moved away from its original form, it displays a complex style. An attempt was made to draw on European architecture, but without success. The mosque is square in plan and built of cut stone. The round windows on the dome drum are framed with Baroque curves. The wooden entrance door is adorned with carvings, and the building is covered by a large dome.
