Editor's Note
Used as the provincial government building in the Ottoman period, the structure was destroyed in the fires the city suffered during the War of Independence, leaving only its main facade walls standing. As it could not be used in this state, it was rebuilt in the early years of the Republic with a plainer facade and a similar plan.
