Editor's Note
It was commissioned by Pir Ahmet Çelebi, son of Leysi Çelebi. Ahmet Çelebi served as a professor (müderris) in the major cities of the Ottoman Empire and as the judge (kadı) of Aleppo and Cairo. The mosque's windows have a lobed upper covering on the inside and a pointed-arch one on the outside. Brick was used in the arches, while a mixture of brick and rubble stone was used in the remaining parts. The transition to the dome was achieved with Turkish triangles.
