Editor's Note
Germencik railway station is a TCDD station in the town of Germencik, in Aydın Province. It was built in 1866 by the Ottoman Railway Company as part of their railway from İzmir to Aydın. Once the railway arrived, Germencik became a major center for olive oil production and exported it to outside markets via the station. After the company was bought out by the Turkish State Railways in 1935 the station came under TCDD control, and it still serves mainline and regional trains today.
