Editor's Note
Although it is not known who built the mosque in the village of Böğet, Eskil, or when, it is recorded that it was studied by Friedrich Sarre, who traveled through the region in 1895. It has a rectangular plan running north-south, with 90-cm-thick walls built of various stone materials, topped by a hipped roof on two wooden posts with internal wood paneling. Marseille tiles were used on the roof. Spolia thought to date from the Roman-Byzantine periods can also be seen in the mosque.
