Editor's Note
Perta lies near the village of Giymir, about 70 km northeast of Konya. On the Peutinger Table the city is shown 32 miles from Archaleis. It appears that the city had a council during the Roman period and bears traces of the Byzantine era. When it was abandoned is unknown. An inscription found at Kocaş records the city's name and shows that it had a popular assembly. A Latin milestone is among the artifacts found at the site. In addition, some 30 gravestones dating to the Roman and Byzantine periods have been identified.
