Editor's Note
It stands at the entrance to the Çay district of Afyon. The medrese, used today as a mosque, was built in 677 (1278-79) by Ebü'l-Mücâhid Yûsuf b. Ya'kūb, one of the commanders of the reign of Ghiyath al-Din Kaykhusraw III, by the architect Oğulbek b. Muhammed, together with an adjacent han and bath. There is also a fountain attached to the facade; only the roofed section of the han is standing, and its bath has collapsed. Among the Anatolian Seljuk medreses it belongs to the group with a domed, porticoless courtyard, two iwans and a single storey. Its materials are cut and rubble stone and brick; tile mosaic was used in the decoration.
