Editor's Note
It is one of the bridges built over wide rivers as part of the public-works activities of the early years of the Republic. It was built in the band-arch type that was commonly constructed at the time. The Adagide Bridge, built in the same type over the Küçük Menderes River and known as the first reinforced-concrete bridge of the Republic, was destroyed by a flood, leaving the Pazaryeri Bridge as the sole surviving example.
