The Redif Battalion Central Mansion is known to have been built in the 1890s, during the construction of the Anatolia-Baghdad Railway. The building, which held an important place in the winning of the War of Independence, was used as the Redif Battalion Central Mansion and hosted Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic, while he was inspecting the 5th Cavalry Unit. Today it has been restored as the Ilgın Central Library and is in active service.
