Editor's Note
According to the construction inscription above its door, it was built by Hoca Seyfeddin Bey in AH 902 (AD 1496), at the very end of the 15th century. It was repaired in AH 1194 (AD 1780). This mosque was built in the Seljuk architectural style. Great care was given to its ornamentation during the later repair. Built of cut stone and brick, the mosque is notable for its imagery and its hand-painted (kalem işi) decorations.
