Editor's Note
It lies in the village of Karacaahmet in the Ulubey district of Uşak Province. Karaca Ahmet Sultan was among the holy dervishes - like Hacı Bektaş Veli and Hacım Sultan, sent by Hoca Ahmet Yesevi - who played a role in the Islamization and Turkification of Anatolia. He was both a warrior-dervish (alperen) and a skilled physician. He lived during the time of the Saruhan ruler İshak Çelebi (790/1338) and personally took part in the conquest of Manisa, which the Saruhanids wrested from the Byzantines. Evliya Çelebi gives his date of death as 1262. The 1371 Revak Sultan endowment deed in Manisa records the name "Süleyman Horasanoğlu Karaca Ahmet."
