Editor's Note
The structure known as the Clandras Bridge is in fact an aqueduct. Thought to have been built in the Roman period, probably in the 2nd century, the aqueduct stands at the start of the channels that carried water to the ancient city of Pepouza about 1 km away. The water channels, cut into the rock, can still be clearly traced today.
