Editor's Note
A historic church set on the cliffs overlooking the Tigris at the northeast corner of the Diyarbakir citadel; the only church lying outside the city walls, it is also known as the Black Priest Church (Kara Papaz). Its exact date is unknown but it is thought to have been built in the 3rd century AD. It served as the palace bath during the Artuqid period and has since been restored and turned into an art gallery.
