Editor's Note
The Syriac Village Church lies about 1.5 km east of Hasankeyf, on the north bank of the Tigris River. Oriented east to west, the church is a small chapel consisting of a single nave. Its vaulted roof and most of its walls have collapsed, and a few graves and a water well survive nearby. The courtyard walls have disappeared entirely, and the site has been turned into farmland.
