The rock mosque about 0.32 km south of the centre of Hasankeyf is a single-space place of worship carved into the rock. Sitting higher than the ground where the bedrock lies, the mosque is reached by steps cut into the rock. Entered from the north façade, the building's west wall collapsed when a mass of rock broke away, while the south wall holds a pointed-arched mihrab carved one within another. Filled with earth today, the mosque is no longer in use.
