The Şâb (Molla Halil) Mosque lies east of the Hasankeyf Inner Citadel, south of the ancient road. Built in the Artuqid period, the structure comprises a prayer hall, a portico (last congregation place) and a courtyard; the prayer hall is single-naved and barrel-vaulted. The rubble-fill walling technique was used, while quality cut stone was chosen for the mihrab and door jambs. In the Ottoman period a small mosque was added to the southeast end, and the rubble around it came to be used over time as a cemetery.
