The Tomb of Sheikh Şeref lies in the Hasankeyf Inner Citadel, south of the Great Palace, and is known among local people by this name. The square structure is built of rubble stone and covered with a dome on an octagonal drum, the transition to the dome achieved with squinches. Inside the tomb is a large wooden cenotaph, with graves around it; the structure is thought to date to the Ayyubid period.
