The Akarca Hamlet Cisterns lie within the boundaries of Ardicli village in the Gercus district of Batman. Carved into the bedrock, the cisterns have narrow mouths, cylindrical bodies and a form that widens towards the base. The cisterns were generally used to collect rainwater; today they are largely destroyed and have lost their function. Three cisterns lie close to one another, varying in mouth diameter and depth.
