Named Tir-i Mujgan (d. 1849) after the mother of Abdulhamid II, the mosque stands in the Tulum Quarter, 11 km from the town centre to the southeast of Torbali. In the Aydin Provincial Yearbooks, the building is referred to as the "Mosque of Tulum Farm Village" from H. 1311 (1893) to H. 1314 (1896), while from H. 1314 (1896) onward the yearbooks call it the "Tir-i Mujgan Mosque in the village of Tulum."
